For those of you wanting to volunteer with Terraeden in 2015, this may be a great opportunity for you to get involved.
Nimbin mardigrass is a festival held every year which celebrates the many uses and benefits of cannabis. Medicinal, culinary, industrial and ‘recreational’. They all are discussed at great lengths in open forums, by speakers who specialise in their chosen area, with fun games and of course, the march down the main street to the police station holding the ‘big joint’. The festival was birthed in 1993 as a grass roots movement and now attracts punters from all over the globe.
Last year, Terraeden Biotecture took on the mammoth task of the dealing with festival garbage, recyclables and compost. We rescued approximately 80% of the cans and bottles and 70% of the food waste. The cans and bottles were stored for future building projects and the compost was sent to levity gardens (a whopping 120 cubic metres of it!).
This year we invite you to be a part of our volunteer team. Come and get dirty with us sorting, stomping, scavenging and sailing on the good ship ‘Mardigarbos’. Volunteers are offered free camping and admittance into ticketed areas.
So, come and get amongst the fun! Get a glimpse of this iconic town from an angle you may not have seen before. From all the scallywags at Terraeden – FREE THE WEED!
